John Ralph Hollensteiner

Stayton- John Ralph Hollensteiner was born on July 1, 1941 in Bozeman, Montana to Carl and Mildred (White) Hollensteiner.  He would grow up in and live his early life in Montana.  After Highschool John would attend Western Montana College of Education.  His studies would be interrupted though by his enlistment into the United States Navy.  He would serve for four years before being honorably discharged with the rating of ETN3.  After military service he would go back to school to finish his education.  He would then use his education to teach high school art and business.  After teaching for a few years, John gave up teaching and would start working as a building/ property inspector.  John would move to Oregon where he would continue working as an inspector until his retirement. In spare time, John enjoyed reading, woodworking, gardening and traveling.  He was also a member of the Lyons Garden Club and served as President. On April 5, 2020 John passed away in Stayton, Oregon.  He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Mildred.  He is survived by his children, Derek, Dustin and Darth; grandchildren, Shane and Maia; and siblings, Alice and Charles.
