John Frederick Culpepper

February 7, 1944 — December 2, 2021

Albany- John Frederick Culpepper was born on February 7, 1944 in Seneca, Kansas to Fred Dewey Culpepper and Lulu Lorraine Lortscher.  In 1961, John joined the United States Navy. He would be honorably discharged in 1965 with the rating of ADR3 (Aviation Machinist's Mate). During his time in the Navy, he participated in the 1962 nuclear test in the Pacific. After being discharged from the military John went to work as a greater heavy equipment operator. He became the owner/ operator of a excavating company until his retirement.  In his spare time, John enjoyed hunting, bird watching, watching grandkids play ball, gardening, working on his pond and most things that involved the great outdoors. He loved his family and his Callie dog.  On December 2, 2021 John passed away in Albany, Oregon.  He was preceded in passing by his parents, Fred and Lulu; and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann.  He is survived by his loving wife, Meredith; children, Michael (Peggy), Jim (Kris), Carolyn (Mike), Sierra, and Donny; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be announced sometime in January on Facebook.
