On September 25th at 3:30 pm, Jimmie C Gulliford, of Sweet Home, passed away in his room at the Lebanon Veterans Home.
He was surrounded by friends and family who shared their love by recounting tales of his life and daring deeds.
Jimmie will be remembered as a large, loud, gruff man who told tales and stories almost too grand to be true, almost. The grandeur of his stories was only exceeded by the size of his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack, and Mary Gulliford; his wife, Lorene; his brother, Raymond; and his great grandson, Jeremiah Mayer.
He leaves behind his son and daughter in law, Jon, and Connie Gulliford of Sweet Home; daughter and son in law Elizabeth and Brady Warren of Helendale, California; 9 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
Jimmie leaves a legacy of outdoorsmanship, as well as teaching his family the arts and sciences of hunting, fishing, and camping.
Jimmie was a Marine to his core. He served in Vietnam earning a Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. Following his time of active military service, Jimmie continued to give back to his community through various organizations, DAV, VFW, Eagles, Masons, Eastern Star, Kiwanis, and Marine Corp League.
Jimmie and his stories will be missed by all who knew him. His life continues in those who had the opportunity to sit at his feet and hear his tales.
