Jesse P. Surface

JESSE  PAUL  SURFACE Dec. 9, 1937 – June 8, 2011 Salem, Oregon Jesse P. Surface was born in Langley, Washington on Dec. 9, 1937.  He passed away on Wed. June 8th in Woodburn.  He was 73.  The son of Carl and Willamina Surface.  Jesse graduated from Langley high school and was married to Rachel LeBleu on Oct. 10, 1959 in Goldendale, WA.   He served in the US Army having been stationed in Germany for 2 years before his transfer to Georgia.  After his military service he worked as a warehouse supervisor  for Air Flow systems for 23 years before retiring in 2000.  He was a very devout Christian and member  of the Fruitland Community Church.  Outside of his love of God, he had a beautiful relationship with his wife, Rachel, of 52 years,  and his family.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and bike riding. He is survived by his wife, Rachel of Woodburn; daughter, Linda (Mike)Pederson of Wilsonville; brothers, Ted of Washington, Don of Arizona, Carl and Bob both of Oregon; grandchildren, Aliscia great grandchildren, Jester and Jaden.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie in 1994 and his brother, Mel. Memorials may be made to the Serenity Hospice. Memorial service will be held on Sat. July 16th, 2:00 pm at  the Salem Greens Club House, Salem, OR.
