Jennifer Lynn Nelson was born on October 14th, 1978 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Nicholas and Hollye (Bruce) Nelson. She lived in Louisiana where she was raised with her siblings Jesse and Jacqui Nelson until she was ten years old.
Her family then moved across the United States to Salem, Oregon where Jennifer lived for the last 34 years of her life. She attended Sprague high school and decided to leave early to get her general education diploma.
Jennifer spent the last 27 years with the love of her life Charles Thomas Collier, Jr. They met through mutual friends and married on June 7 2009, at the Salem courthouse. They were blessed with 4 beautiful children, Sierra, Raven, James, and Jacob.
Jennifer worked at ODOT for 11 years in the tax collection department until two years ago when her health issues led to an early retirement.
Jennifer was kind, beautiful, smart, and funny. She loved to make others laugh with her stories and her own laugh was incredibly contagious. She always knew how to make you smile. She cared very deeply for those around her and would do anything for them.
One of Jennifer’s favorite things to do was go to the beach with her husband and watch the ocean. She also enjoyed spending her time with her children and family.
On March 29th, 2023, Jennifer suddenly left this world far too early. She leaves behind her husband Charles Collier; her children Sierra Collier, Raven Remly, James Collier, and Jacob Collier; Her mother Hollye Nelson; Her parents Charles Collier, Sr. and Judy Collier; her siblings Jesse Nelson, Jacqui Paul, and Robby Maddon; and many other people who loved her.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 3rd, 2023 at Weddle Funeral Service from 2-4 pm for those who would like to come say goodbye.
