Jeffrey Lynn Baney was born October 7, 1957, in Salem, Oregon, to Hubert Jewell and Barbara (Finley) Baney. The family moved to Mill City when he was in grade school and Jeff attended the Santiam schools. As an adult, Jeff worked mostly as a truck driver, both long and short haul. Driving allowed him to see several states and much beautiful scenery over the years. On July 18, 1992, Jeff married Kimberly Webb Sears and the two blended their families and had two more children together for a total of nine children. When Jeff was not working, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family that he loved so much. He was outgoing and friendly and looked forward to the weekends and the social gatherings that he could attend. Living in the Santiam Canyon was perfect for Jeff, he loved being out in the mountains hunting, fishing, and camping. He also had a passion for cars and enjoyed working on them, he could troubleshoot and fix just about anything. Jeff also had a love of country music. At the beginning of April, Jeff became ill and ended up in the hospital. After three weeks of hospitalization, he succumbed to his illnesses and passed away on May 3, 2021, at the age of 63. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Kim; brother Jerry (Jackie) Baney of Pilot Rock, OR; children Tamera (Juan) Baney-Rodriguez of Salem, Jason (Sinnamee) Baney of Mill City, Brian (Kathy) Baney of Aumsville, Elizabeth Baney of Mill City, and Michael Baney of Mill City; stepchildren Vickie (Josh Minten) Sears of Dallas, OR, Matt (Kaylan) Sears of Salem, Heather Sears of Aumsville, and Jeremiah (Heather Clapp) Wallo of Mill City; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
