Jeanette was born in Corvallis, Oregon on February 16, 1937, to Everett and Barbara (Uhlman) Tipsword. She grew up with four brothers in Alsea and graduated from Alsea High School. Jeanette married her high school sweetheart and they had a son and a daughter. In the early 1980’s she moved to Corvallis where she would live until shortly before she passed away on August 14, 2018 at the age of 81. Although she worked as a purchasing agent for the US Forest Service, Jeanette was an incredible homemaker and gardener. She kept and immaculate home, cultivated beautiful gardens and landscaping, was an accomplished seamstress (even making her children's clothing), and was a fantastic cook. According to her daughter, Jeanette made “one hell of a potato salad” and was known for a delicious strawberry pie. Jeanette was a very creative person and it showed in everything she did. She also loved to ride horses, fish the Cascade Lakes, and travel to places like Mexico and Hawaii. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Donald L. and Gene F. Tipsword, and her most loved loyal companion Bailey. She is survived by her children Wendy (Bryan) Cramer Vernon and Mitch (Keely) Cramer; brothers Randall C. (Marie) Tipsword and Robert E. Tipsword; grandsons Josh, Nathan, and Jason Cramer and granddaughter Tania (Rick) Lewin; great-grandchildren Jeremiah and Autumn Cramer; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private interment will take place at the Alsea Cemetery where her parents rest. Services will be held by family at a later date.
