Jason James Buckley

Jason James Buckley was born on July 17, 1978 in Salem, Oregon to Kirk Buckley and Julie (Bensing) Buckley. He graduated from Stayton High School with the Class of 1996 and then attended Linn Benton Community College. He worked as a manager at Veterinary Service Inc in Albany.

Those who knew Jason, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.

Jason will be remembered by all who knew him for his quick wit. They were always entertained by his stories and hilarious sense of humor. He truly brought life to the party. He was a voracious reader and book collector who also enjoyed war gaming and cooking. His love for exotic and unique animals began at a very early age and continued throughout his lifetime. From tortoises to bearded dragons, snakes to iguanas, and even a hedgehog or two, he loved and cared for them all.

Music of all genres and many types of art were of special interest to him and his passion for imaginative creativity was passed on to his children, Samuel and Livia.

On February 21, 2023, Jason passed away in Salem, Oregon after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his mother, Julie Buckley and father Kirk Buckley; children, Samuel Lee, 11 and Livia Rae Buckley, 8 and their mother Melissa (Dayton) Buckley; his brother and sister in-law Josh and Summer Buckley; as well as many aunts, uncles, nephews, a niece, cousins, and friends. Jason loved his family and friends very much. His kindness and generosity will always be remembered.
