Jamie Dorene Essman

March 12, 1980 — September 23, 2024

Jamie Dorene Essman, left us far too soon on September 23, 2024, in Salem, Oregon. Jamie was born on March 12, 1980, in Stayton, Oregon, to Floyd Wesley Essman and Violet Diane Sears. She spent her childhood in Stayton and Salem, where she created many cherished memories. Jamie attended Marilyn Elementary in Lyons, Oregon, and later attended Stayton High School.

Jamie found fulfillment in her work within the food service industry, but it was her love for her family, hobbies, and the simple joys of life that truly defined her. She had a deep affection for scary movies and enjoyed collecting cow memorabilia. Jamie also found joy in playing video games with her nephew and looked forward to trips to the coast, where she loved playing in the ocean.

Jamie was married to Brian McNeal, and although they eventually parted ways, their union was blessed with four children—Teesha, Shanayah, Dauntae, and Darien—whom she loved dearly. Jamie cherished every moment spent with her family, including her beloved grandchildren, Johnny, Noah, Amilio, Jacob, and Zayden.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Violet Diane Sears; her grandparents, Wilma and Haskell Sears; her grandfather, Billy Joe Essman; uncle Lige Sears and cousin Melissa Sears.

Jamie is survived by her children, Teesha, Shanayah, Dauntae, and Darien; her grandchildren, Johnny, Noah, Emilio, Jacob, and Zayden; grandmother, Lucille Essman; her father, Floyd (Chery) Essman; and her sisters, Audrey, Angie, and Jessica (David), aunt, Jeannie (Ray) Scheller, aunt Diana Sears; cousins Lige and Levi Smith in addition to many extended family members and friends who will carry her memory with them always.

Jamie will be remembered for her kind spirit, love for life, and the warmth she brought to all those who knew her. Though her time with us was too short, her legacy of love, family, and simple joys will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
