James "Jimmy" Rood, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and
friend, left this world on October 31, 2023, at the age of 65. He was
born in Cleveland, Ohio, on February 26, 1958 to Betty and Clyde Sr.
On September 4, 1986, in a quaint ceremony at the 1st Christian Church
in Lebanon, Oregon, Jimmy united his life with his loving wife,
Teresa. Their love story continued for 12 years, filled with countless
cherished moments and shared adventures, before parting ways.
Jimmy was a father to his four children: James Victor Rood, Betty Jean
Rood, Larry Allen Rood, and Joseph Benjamin Rood. Jimmy had much love
for his many nieces and nephews. He was also a grandfather to 14
grandchildren, finding pride and happiness in their accomplishments
and achievements.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Jimmy was raised in California before making
his way to Lebanon, Oregon, in the late 1970s. He dedicated much of
his life to hard work and was employed at the Stayton Cannery, where
his dedication and work ethic were admired by his colleagues.
In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed fishing and sharing a cold beer with
friends and family. He had a passion for the simple pleasures in life
and found immense joy in casting his line into the tranquil waters.
Jimmy had a remarkable gift for conversation and a magnetic
personality that could strike up a dialogue with anyone. He was known
for his friendliness and approachability, making friends wherever he
went. His ability to connect with people, along with his outgoing
nature was truly one of his most endearing qualities.
Jimmy's passing leaves a void in the lives of his loved ones and in
the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be
deeply missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and joyful living
will live on in the memories of all who were blessed to share in his
life.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, children, grandchildren, brother
Ray, sisters Bonnie, and Sandra, and the cherished memories of his late
siblings, Linda and Clyde.
May James "Jimmy" Rood rest in peace, his spirit forever cherished by
those who loved him.
