James Ray Terwilleger

James was born in Florence, Oregon, to James Daniel and Jane Rose (Moon) Terwilleger. He grew up with a brother, Allen, and two sisters Selena and Crystal. After high school, James enlisted in the Navy, serving on the USS Niagara out of Alameda, California. James married Tamara Russell and together they had five children. Although the marriage ended in divorce, the couple remained very fond of one another. James loved performing in front of people, usually playing his banjo or guitar. He especially loved sharing his music with the people living in nursing homes and watching their faces light up. James was always loving and caring even through difficult times. His family cherished him and he will be deeply missed by all that loved him. James was surrounded by family, right up until his last breath. James is survived by his children Koreen Terwilleger , Vivien Reneé, Sabella Terwilleger, Victorea Terwilleger, Neal Terwilleger, and Stefani Spees; siblings Allen Terwilleger, Selena Ronkin, and Crystal Terwilleger Anderson; seven grandchildren; Aunt Joan Moon and Jean Iiams and families; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will celebrate James’ life with a service in the spring.
