James Michael Clayton

“Mike” James Michael Clayton was born on January 10 th , 1947 in Rosemead, California to mother Vila and father James. He was raised alongside his three brothers, Thomas Clayton, William Clayton, and George Clayton in the early years of his life, spending his youth in California, where he would attend Rosemead High School and Long Beach State University. Mike married Sheri Bell in 1977 and they had daughters Cary Clayton, and Stacy Clayton Bridgeman. In 2005, James married his wife Lessa Kathleen Moreland Woods, in Santa Ana, California, and was honored to welcome step-son Travis Woods, step-son Brent Woods, and stepdaughter Lizzy Woods White into his heart.

Mike had a creative mind, and spent his working years as a graphic designer, even going on to own his own design company, Clayton and Woods Design, Inc. Mike enjoyed drawing, painting, golf, and spending his free time outside tending to his garden. His family and friends will remember his quirky sense of humor, love for arguing politics and his love for his family.

Mike passed away peacefully on July 13 ^th 2022, in Albany, Oregon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vila and James, as well as his brothers Thomas, William, and George. He is survived by his wife Lessa, and his five children, Cary, Stacy, Travis, Brent and Lizzy; as well as his grandchildren Justin Thalmeyer, Cali Thalmeyer, Logan Woods, Cody Woods, Penelope White, and Damon White.
