Jack Smith

July 11, 1950 – Dec. 10, 2012 Mill City, Oregon Jack was born in Norfolk, Virginia on July 11, 1950.  He passed away on Monday the 10th.  He was 62 yrs. of age.  The son of Herman and Virginia Smith.  Jack graduated from Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia.  He served  two tours in the Navy during the Vietnam Era.  He lived in Virginia for 25 years before moving to Oregon 37 years ago having lived 27 years in the Santiam Canyon.  He was a business owner, Entrepreneur.  He was married to Stacy Johnston, she preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his father, Herman.  Jack is survived by his mother, Virginia Pozek; brother, Douglas Smith; daughters, Shannon Dyer and Sarah Smith; sons,  Johnnie Smith and Christopher Smith; son-in law, Kevin Moore; daughter in law, Jennifer Moberg; 7 grandsons, including, Maxwell Ethan Moore, Aaron Moore, Kobe Dyer, Kevin Moore Jr. and Wyatt Kadin; and his cat “Earl”. A “Celebration of Jack!!” will be held on Sat. Dec. 15th at 1:00 pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, 640 SW Broadway St., Mill City, OR.
