Inez Eileen Biery

Inez was born on March 12, 1942, in Garfield Township, Ida County, Iowa. She was the fourth daughter of six born to Thomas and Doris (Thomas) Iwen. Inez would grow up in the Midwest on the family farm and loved the companionship of her sisters very much. They would often have canning parties where laughter was echoed throughout the home, often referred to as the Iwen cackle. While a teenager she was the few selected to watch Perry Como sing which was a very big moment in her life as a teenage girl. Eventually, she would graduate from high school in 1960 and attend beauty school. Inez family would own and operate their own café. It was a place where many locals would stop in throughout the day and get a cup of coffee and visit. On one day, her future husband, William Biery would walk through the doors while she was helping. They would marry on September 1, 1963, in Battle Creek Iowa. Inez and William would start a family and were blessed with two children, Bradley, and Rodney. Inez would primarily be a homemaker but would spend time as a beautician. She would cut her boys hair until they reached high school, at which point perhaps they felt too old to get hair cuts by their mom. She also was involved with the Booster Club while her boys were in school. Their dad would long haul truck drive and many times the four of them would go on a long-haul truck drive in which many memories were made. With her husband on the road quite a bit, Inez would hold down the home and take excellent care of her boys. In November of 1977 the family would move to Colorado where William would find work mining. During this time Inez would oil paint many mountain scenes and capture the beauty that Colorado is known for. They would eventually move to Kansas briefly but settle in Oregon in 1985 where Inez’s sister and brother-in-law had already settled. Besides oil painting, Inez was a collector of all things and excellent cook (known for her delicious fried chicken served every Sunday). She was blessed later in life to earn the title of grandma and embraced that chapter of her life; she was able to give her grandson Joshua his very first haircut. Inez loved family time and her favorite holiday was Christmas. She would often decorate her home and once even had 4 decorated Christmas trees in her house. On March 25, 2013, Inez would become devastated at the loss of her husband William. After his passing, she would move to Marian Estates Elliot residence in 2015 where she would make new friends and live until her passing on October 20, 2021, at age 79. Inez was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Elaine, Lois, and Sheryll. She is survived by her sons, Bradley (Tracy) Biery, Rodney Biery; sisters, Irene and Yvonne; grandchildren, Dreyvan, Melissa, Ellee, Joshua, Evey, Prommisse, Dillon; great grandchildren, Carter, Jordan, Atlas, Halona and Lilly. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 5:30 pm in Weddle Funeral Service in Stayton.
