Hollis Hope Hartman passed away on October 16, 2022 in Stayton, Oregon just six days after his 100th birthday.
Hollis was born in Brownfield, Texas to Jesse and Artie (Davis) Hartman on October 10, 1922. Hollis had 5 brothers and 1 sister.
He was a Navy Veteran and served in World War II. After returning from the war a family member introduced him to his love, Bessie Ione Adkins. They were married on April 20, 1946. They welcomed four children who they greatly adored.
The family called Brownfield home until 1958 when they moved to Sunnyvale, California. In 1970 the family relocated again to Gilroy, California and eventually settled in Stayton in 1997.
His working years were spent as a farmer and carpenter. He was a devoted husband and family man. He had a special love for his vegetable gardens, RVing, and square dancing. He was a proud member of the American Legion and Carpenters Union.
Hollis is preceded in death by his wife, siblings, and daughter, Patricia Ann Hartman.
He is survived by his children: Jimmy and Rosemary Hartman, John Hartman, and Donna and Greg Collins, 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Weddle Funeral Service – Stayton. He will be laid to rest at Lone Oak Cemetery in Stayton, Oregon.
