Helen L. Allen

January 26, 1931 January 5, 2013 Helen  was born in Gunnison, MS to Worth & Dora Stutts.  She grew up and graduated from high school there.  She moved to Clarksdale in 1949 and began work as an telephone operator at Bell South.  She met and married Loys Allen on November 22, 1952.  They became parents of one daughter, Diane.  Helen retired from the Telephone Company as Manager of her department.   She was a very accomplished Artist, working in many different mediums such as watercolors and ceramics.  As a devoted wife and Mother she treated her family to her excellent cooking.  Everything was homemade.  She was a member of the Oakhurst Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Loys in 2006.  She will be missed by : Diane (Dale), Justin, Michelle, Judy, Paul & Gary.  Visitation: Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Funeral Services; Saturday, January 12, 2013  2:00 P.M. at National Funeral Home in Clarksdale.  Vault interment will follow at Shelby Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, OR.
