Helen E. Andersen October 11, 1914 July 6, 2010 Mehama, Oregon Helen Elizabeth Andersen, 95, of Mehama, Oregon, went to be with the Lord and her family in Heaven on July 6th, 2010. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.  One of ten children, Helen was born October 11, 1914 in Adams County, Nebraska to Robert and Sena Johnson. She moved from Nebraska in the mid 1930s and after a brief stay in Los Angeles moved to the Santiam Canyon, where she lived the rest of her life, the last 61 years in Mehama. Helen did many jobs in her long life, including 27 years working and managing at the cannery in Stayton, Oregon. When not working, Helen loved to attend the Mehama Community Church, dance, play cards, play bingo, spend time with family and friends and be involved with her community. Anyone who needed anything just needed to ask and she would help. Mrs. Andersen is survived by her sister, Fern Graham; four Grandchildren and their spouses, Charles and Sherry Andersen, Martin and Brenda Andersen, Mark and Janet Andersen, Marci and Kevin Brose; 11 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Andersen and her son and daughter-in-law, Norris “Jack” and Dolores “Jani” Andersen. The family would like to acknowledge Bruce and Bonnie Mathis, Marc Hughes, Bonnie Ried and the many other members of the Mehama/Lyons community for their love and support of Grandma Helen. Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2010 from 9 to 5 and  Funeral Services will be at Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m all at Weddle Funeral Chapel, 1777 N. 3rd Ave. Stayton, OR  burial will follow at Fox Valley Cemetery in Lyons, with a reception to follow at the Mehama Community Church, 11336 Morris St., Mehama, OR.
