Hazel J. West

November 10, 1936 October 20, 2013 Hazel “Nell” Gilliam-West November 10, 1936 – October 20, 2013 Beloved mother and grandmother joined her Lord and savior on Sunday, October 20.  Born a Texan in Brownfield, her life was defined by countless others, including children, grandchildren, friends and strays.  She is survived by four sisters, Lavell Lloyd, Venita Kincheloe, Glenda Treadaway, and Marla Thomas; her four children, Julie Harding, Jesse Gilliam, Mary Gilliam, and Malinda Gilliam; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A retired med aide and caregiver, she was a relentless card player, a lover of God and others, a shining example to those around her.  She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Monmouth, OR.  She touched and influenced so many lives she will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Central Baptist Church of Monmouth.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Pregnancy Resource Center or Teen Challenge.
