Harold Kaiser May 17, 1953 July 27, 2009 Stayton, Oregon Harold Kaiser, 56, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009 at Salem Hospital. Harold, also known as Hal by his friends and colleagues, was born on May 17, 1953 in Longview, Washington to John and Ruth Kaiser. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Western Washington University where he met Theresa (Tere), his wife of 29 years. Hal was a dedicated educator who cared deeply for his students. He began teaching in the Mill City-Gates School District where he spent his first 16 years. He became a school administrator and served as assistant principal at both Lebanon Middle and High Schools. He was principal at Kennedy High School in Mt. Angel for 10 years and spent the last 5 years of his career as principal at Parrish Middle School in Salem. Hal enjoyed working in his yard, boating, and sporting events of all kinds. He spent many years officiating, coaching, and cheering his children on from the sidelines. He also followed Oregon State football and Mariner baseball. He was committed to programs that were directed at helping the youth in the community including food banks and needy children funds. Hal was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Andy (Katie), Kaitlyn, and Casey; his mother, Ruth Kaiser; and his three sisters, Francis Rutledge, Barbara (Pete) Villa, and Kathryn (Bob) Sturgill. He was preceded in death by his father, John Kaiser. Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Church in Stayton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hal Kaiser Memorial Fund in care of Parrish Middle School, 802 Capitol Street, Salem Ore. 97301. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, Oregon.
