Sweet Home- Gordon Preston, 61 years of age, passed on Thursday, November 3rd, 2021 at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice. Gordon was an Alaskan native born December 9, 1959 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late William and Anna Preston. He was the 3rd oldest of 4 children, one preceded him in death. He married Debbie Preston in 1986 and 2 children were born from this union. After almost 25 years after primary school, he acquired his GED and stepped foot into Anoka community college to take the next step in his life. During his time at college, he became the president of the local VICA club. Gordon spent 10 years working on automobile body work and painting. Later he switched careers and became a journeyman carpenter. He excelled at both and received high praise from anyone he did work for. He was talented at both. Gordon also extended his passion to his friends and family. He wanted everyone to love and enjoy carpentry as much as he did. He would spend many hours teaching and showing people what is possible with a blank piece of wood. The end result was always a smile and a sense of pride on what was accomplished. Gordon leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his wife, Debbie; 2 siblings, Gloria and Jack; 2 children, Mark and Nichole; 3 grandchildren, Preston, Austyn, and Bjorn; and many cousins, nephews and nieces, and friends. There will not be a service in his memory per his wishes. As a Navy veteran, we will be putting his name on a marker at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland Oregon.
