Glen E. Reinke February 20, 1937 ~ May 28, 2010 Lyons-Glen Reinke, 73, died of mesothelioma cancer the morning of May 28, 2010 after a year long struggle with this incurable disease. He was born in Tyler, Minnesota on February 20, 1937 to parents Arthur and Luella Reinke and graduated from Tyler High School in 1955. In 1960 he married Joyce Williams of Ruthton, MN where they lived for 3 years while Joyce taught in Tyler and Glen worked there. In 1963 they moved to Detroit, OR, where they lived for 12 years while Glen was employed by the US Forest Service doing fire prevention, road maintenance and heavy equipment operation. In 1975 they purchased a tree farm on McCully Mountain west of Lyons and raised sheep, hay, and timber. Retirement came early and in 1992, Glen was able to devote full time to developing the farm acreage and enjoying his favorite hobbies of fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with family. For many years he spent the fall season in Alberta, Canada hunting moose with friends there. He is lovingly missed by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Rebecca; son-in-law, Joshua Merrion; sister, Joyce Jensen; brothers, Gerald, Gene, Rodney, and their spouses as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Delrose and Gloria, and best friend Windsor, a rescued Weimaraner. At Glen’s request there will be no formal service. A private memorial and spreading of ashes will be done at a later time.
