Gilbert E. Powell

GILBERT  E.  POWELL Aug. 23, 1926   †   July 8, 2013 Gilbert E. Powell was born in Walla Walla, Washington on Aug. 23, 1926.  He was the son of William and Mabel Powell.  He passed away on Monday, July 8th, he was 86 years of age. Gilbert lived in Idaho and graduated from Boise State with a Bachelor’s degree.  He moved to Salem in the 1960’s and had worked as an accountant/auditor for the State of Oregon.  He had served in the Air National Guard and enjoyed playing music especially the guitar and fiddle. Gilbert is survived by his dear friend, Maurita Nichol of Aumsville and daughter, Jenna Porter of California and two grandsons, Benjamin and Caleb Porter. No service will be held.
