Esther Gray, born on April 25, 1950, in Toledo, Oregon, to Bertha Bemrose and Scott Lane, lived a life marked by dedication to her family, community, and heritage. Esther grew up in the Salem and Siletz areas alongside her siblings Minnie, Neomi, Jerry, David, Pauline, and Patty, forming bonds that lasted a lifetime.

Esther was a proud member of the Siletz tribe of Native Americans in Oregon, a connection that deeply influenced her life. On a beautiful day in 1992, she married Greg Waltz, and together they created a home filled with love and devotion. As a homemaker, Esther's dedication to her family was unwavering, always putting their needs above her own.

Her love for nature and the outdoors was evident in her favorite pastimes. Esther enjoyed visiting Thomas Creek, the Santiam River, and the Willamette River. She found joy in rock hounding, mushroom hunting, gardening, thrifting, knitting, and collecting turtles and various glassware, especially birds and mushrooms. Her hobbies reflected her appreciation for the beauty and treasures of the natural world.

Esther's happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment with them, creating lasting memories filled with love and warmth.

Esther is predeceased by her parents, her son Josh, and her grandson Alex. She is survived by her loving children Anna, Jennifer, Jason, and April. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Joe, Anthony, Samantha, Daniel, Haley, and Karly, as well as her great-grandchildren Maya, Harmony, Eva, Mady, Magi, Kennedy, Weston and Sophia.

Esther passed away on November 10, 2024, at her home in Stayton, Oregon. Her life was a testament to love, family, and dedication. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
