Gerard O. Duffy July 21, 1926 February 3, 2009 Sublimity, Oregon Gerard Duffy went to the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday morning Febrary 3, 2009 After a long fight with Lung problems. Gerard was the son of William Duffy and Florence Flanders Duffy born July 21, 1926 in Boston, Massachuesetts. Where he was raised with his sisters Joan and Patrica (Tedda). He graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1947. He joined the Navy and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. After his time in the Navy, he stayed in California, married and had six sons. He worked and retired from Chevron Oil Company in Richmond, California. Gerard was an avid reader, and in his later years, enjoyed working with stained glass and beads, creating many beautiful stained glass works of art and jewery pieces. He also enjoyed fishing, bowhunting, traveling, gardening and playing FreeCell on the computer. He was trying to beat every level of Freecell and made it to game 13675. He is survived by his, wife Evelyn Duffy; sons, Jim and Patrick of California, Kevin (Rebecca), and Gerard of Eugene; sisters, Joan DOnafrio and Patrica (Tedda) LaRose of Massachuesetts; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gerard was preceded in death by his parents, Willam and Florence; wife, Vi (mother of his sons); and sons, William and Joseph. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Lancaster Assembly of God Church, 491 Lancaster Dr. NE, Salem. Arrangements by Weddle Funeral Service, Stayton.
