Gerald Lee Burkett

Gerald Lee Burkett passed away on October 13, 2022, in Scio, Oregon at age 68. He was born on April 6, 1954, in Sacramento, California to Earl and Dorothy (Weston) Burkett. He received his high school diploma in 1972 and would later join the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. Gerald would be stationed in Guam and the Philippines until his honorable discharge. Later, he would work as a tile setter and contractor.
Throughout his lifetime, Gerald would live in Sacramento for 35 years and the Big Island of Hawaii for 22 years. Wherever he went, he enjoyed working out in his yard, helping friends/family/neighbors. He loved his grandchildren.
Gerald is survived by his son, Jason (Amanda) Burkett; daughter, Anne Burkett; grandchildren, Felicity, Austin, Matthew, Lily, Emily, Caleb and Eva; siblings, Charles Burkett, Michael Burkett and Beverly Hardwick. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Dorothy and Earl.
A private burial will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
