Gerald "Jerry" David Perrien

Gerald David Perrien, born on May 9, 1963, in Denison, Iowa, passed away in Albany, Oregon, on May 31, 2024. Gerald, known fondly as Jerry, was the beloved son of Ronald and Judith (Crouch) Perrien. Jerry moved from Iowa to Albany, Oregon, with his parents and sister during his grade school years and graduated from West Albany High School in 1981. Jerry had been living in Sweet Home, Oregon for the last few years of his life.


After high school, Jerry embarked on a career that saw him working at Evanite, Service Master, and later the Corvallis School District. An accomplished athlete, Jerry held the record for a 62-yard punt in football at North Albany Junior High School, a testament to his athletic prowess.


Jerry was a man of many passions, most of which revolved around the great outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, and he found immense joy in boating, tubing, and riding jet skis. Camping trips with friends and family were among his favorite activities, where he was delighted in finding unique rocks and feathers. Jerry also enjoyed bike rides and motorcycle adventures. His love for the motorcycles and cars he owned over the years was well-known, he also enjoyed spending time working on his vehicles. Jerry was a huge sports fan, he always loved watching sporting events with loved ones.


Jerry is survived by his father, Ronald Perrien; his daughters, Cortney Perrien and Karah Miller; and his granddaughters, Harper McBride and Emilia McBride. He also leaves behind his nieces, Alyssa and Alesha Hayes; his nephew, Ryan Gray; and their children. Jerry's best friend of over 50 years, Mark Cox, along with many other friends and his beloved dog, Dink, will deeply miss him.


Preceding him in death are his mother, Judith; his sister, Tracie; and his grandparents.


Memorial contributions in Jerry’s memory can be made to SafeHaven Humane Society, reflecting his love and compassion for animals.


Jerry will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love for animals and the outdoors, his joy for sporting events and quality time together will be honored, and the deep bonds he shared with his family and friends will never be forgotten.
