George D Jackson was born January 22, 1925 in Pryor, Oklahoma. His parents were Allen and Elsa (Richards) Jackson. George went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2024 in Stayton, Oregon. He was drafted into the US Army in 1943, and spent two years battling in Italy during WWII. After returning home he met Marjorie Slater and they were married December 26, 1945. Shortly after their marriage, they joined the Assembly of God Church in Turner, Oregon, where they served the Lord for the rest of their lives.
George worked for PMT Trucking for 27 years before retiring. He built a new house for the family in 1965 and lived there for over 50 years. George enjoyed playing his guitar, hunting of all kinds, fishing all over, golfing, and reading his bible.
George is survived by two sons Jimmy (Pat) and Wayne. He has 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 75 years Marge, parents Allen and Elsa, sister Carlene, brother Paul (Tom) and most of his sister and brother-in-laws.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 26th from 5pm to 8pm at Weddle Funeral Service 1777 N. Third Stayton, OR 97383.
A celebration of life with military honors will at Church on the Hill in Turner, Oregon on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2:00 P.M.
