Gary Robert Schiedler was born on July 7, 1942 in Silverton, Oregon to Bernard and Eldred (Zollner) Schiedler. Gary grew up in Mt. Angel and graduated from Mt. Angel Prep in 1961. He met the love of his life Bette Bauer while in high school. Bette and Gary were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Angel on October 6, 1962. Together they raised four children: Greg Schiedler, Deanna O’Neil, Rachel Adamec, and Scott Schiedler. Gary owned and operated one of the largest independent egg producing farms in Oregon. Gary was also the past president of the Mt. Angel Chamber of Commerce. Gary lived in Mt. Angel for 59 years before moving to Albany with his wife. They would own and operate their limousine company in Albany. Gary loved hunting deer and elk in Eastern Oregon, and spending as much time with his family as possible. On August 16, 2020 Gary passed away at home at age 78. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Bette, his children: Greg, Deanna, Rachel, and Scott, and his grandchildren: Kelly Vogel, Kristen Adamec, Megan Adamec, Tom O’Neil, Greyson Schiedler, Christian Schiedler, and Aurora Schiedler. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Eldred Schiedler. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to St. Mary’s (Our Lady of Perpetual Help) Catholic Church in Albany.
