Gary Dean Rogers

Gary Dean Rogers was born on February 12, 1946 in McMinnville, Oregon to Cecil "Dean" and Rosalie "Maxine" (Vincent) Rogers. He attended and graduated from Port Oford High School. Gary eventually joined the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. He became a member of the VFW. After he served, Gary began a career with Montgomery Wards for 26 years followed by working in storage and motel management. Throughout his life he lived in Alaska, California, New Mexico, Nevada, Montana and the last 6 years in Oregon. Gary married Barbara Jean Reed on September 30, 1983 in Anchorage, Alaska. Together, they would travel, enjoy life and family together. Gary loved to collect Goofy memorabilia which he fell in love with after taking trips to Disneyland. He would also  trade pins at Disneyland, in addition to rocks and knives. Gary was proud of his time at Montgomery Wards and would collect items from there as well. Most recently Gary was a resident of Jefferson, Oregon. On April 23, 2020 passed away surrounded by the love of family. He was preceded in death by his mother Maxine Rogers. He is survived by his father, Dean Rogers; wife, Barbara Rogers; children,  Clint Miner, Tammy Ponto, Jerri Powers, Shelly Parker, Jenny Bearman; sister, Ruth Sturgill; grandchildren Clinton, Cody, Alex, Hunter, Stephan, Autumn, Foster, Cedric, Taylor, Logan, Christian, Eva, Emma, Esme, in addition to 6 great grandchildren. A private family service will be held at a later date in Willamette National Cemetery with military honors.
