Gail Irene (Jacobsen) Kirsch

Salem - Born on June 27, 1944 in Salem, Oregon to Roy and Dorothy (Robinson) Jacobsen, Gail graduated from Silverton High School in 1962. She met Frank J. Kirsch, Jr. on a blind date in 1961 and they married on January 29, 1966 at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Silverton, Oregon. Together, Frank and Gail settled their family in Salem and are long time members of the St. Paul Rodeo Association. She spent many years working in the ticket office and volunteering as needed. Gail worked at Oregon State Corrections as an administrative clerk and later worked at the Macleay Country Store. As a family, they enjoyed week long camping trips and time at the beach. Gail spent time with friends playing bingo, bunko and loved garage sales. On August 27, 2021, Gail passed away peacefully at age 77 in Salem, Oregon. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Frank J. Kirsch, Jr; children, Denise Busch, Kevin Kirsch, Debbie Brownell; siblings, Randy Jacobsen and Gwen Hitt; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 1 PM in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in St. Paul Oregon followed by a reception at the St. Paul Jaycee Bullpen. The family would like to thank Hawthorne House and Serenity Hospice for taking such good care of Gail. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association .
