Franklin Forrest Braught passed away on April 7, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Born on August 17, 1943, in Lebanon, Oregon, he was the beloved child of Ruby Ford and Frank Braught. Franklin’s life was woven with threads of hard work, family bonds, and simple pleasures.
He embarked on a lifelong journey with his beloved Patsy Wetherell, whom he married on November 6, 1965, in their hometown of Lebanon. Franklin dedicated years of service to Willamette Industries and later retired from Georgia Pacific. His hands knew the rhythm of labor, but his heart danced to the tune of joy.
Franklin reveled in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid bowler, a patient fisherman, and a skilled hunter. Yet, his greatest joy came from spending time with family. Saturday family game nights were sacred—a time when laughter echoed through the rooms, and love flowed freely.
Franklin is survived by his children—Jodi (Calvin) McDonald, Sherri (Eric) Parker, and Steve (Diana) Braught. His grandchildren—Christopher McDonald, Zach Parker, Alex (Summer) Parker, Kayla (Jerramiah) Sparks, Jacob Braught, and Janessa (Jacob) Heinz—carry forward his legacy. Additionally, he leaves behind eight great-grandchildren. Among his siblings, Gene (Marie) Braught, Donna (Gordon) Fast, and Judy (Stan) Port stand as a testament to the enduring bonds of family.
Franklin was reunited with those who went before him—the gentle souls who shaped his journey. He joined his parents, sister Etta Braught, and great-grandson Bentley Sparks in the embrace of eternity.
May his memory be a beacon of warmth, and may the echoes of his laughter continue to resonate in the hearts of those who loved him.
