Franklin Ernest Mills

Franklin Ernest Mills March 4, 1934 – October 8, 2015 Lyons, Oregon Frank Mills, 81, of Lyons passed away Thursday at his home. Frank was born in Long Beach, California to William E. and Ruth (Lawrence) Mills. He grew up in Leaburg and in 1951 joined the Navy where he served during the Korean Conflict. His last station was in Kwajalein where he participated in the atomic tests, “Operation Castle”. In 1963 he married Phyllis Specht in Jefferson, Oregon. Frank was a heavy construction equipment operator, and also had a log truck and saw mill. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons-in-law, and his brother Kenneth Mills. He is survived by his wife Phyllis; daughters Joyce (Allen) Bull and Teresa (Scott) Price, both of Rocky Mount, NC; sister Doris (Wayne) Hansen of Leaburg, OR; sister-in-law Barbara Mills of Crabtree, OR; 3 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Private interment to follow at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Leaburg, OR. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services.
