Eva was born on November 30, 1936 in Empire, Oregon to Gerald and Bessie (Green) Zinn. She grew up in the Empire/Coos Bay area and attended North Bend High School. She met Jim Cole who was her neighbor, and a friendship was made. They would eventually marry in 1965 in Carson City, Nevada. They moved to Bend, Oregon in 1968 and lived there a year before making Scio, Oregon their permanent home in 1969. Eva was a member of the Scio Boosters Club and would help supply food for gatherings and one year she helped remake the high school band uniforms. Eva had many talents which included canning, baking, cooking and crafting. She would embroider pillow cases and made excellent meals. She was known for her snickerdoodles, no bake cookies and excellent spaghetti. Most knew that if she cooked or baked for you it would be something to be enjoyed! Eva and Jim would enjoy drives out to Newport where they would go clamming for gapers. Afterwards, Eva would either fry up some clam fritters or make some of her home cooked clam chowder. But besides all of the many talents Eva had, she was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Eva passed away on February 12, 2020 at age 83 surrounded by the love of her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Jim; sons, Everett, Jerry and James; grandchildren, Ellen, Lindsay, Sara, Amanda, Jenny, Samuel, Erin, Emily, Joey, Anna; great grandchildren, Lucias, Madeline, James, Alyssa, Declan and a sister, Lucille. A celebration of life will be on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 12:30 pm in Scio Christian Church with a private burial at Providence Cemetery in Scio.
