Eugene Edward Smith, 69, of Lebanon, Oregon passed away on October 11, 2022.
Eugene was born on October 25, 1952, in Hanford, California to Dora (Sholes) and James Richard Smith.
He was passionate about sports. He received scholarships for this athletic ability in football where he attended West Hills College in Coalinga, California. In 1973 he attended University of Berkely on a track scholarship. His dedication to the sport eventually earned him induction to the West Hills College Athletic Hall of Fame.
Eugene loved listening to music and was famous for the walking sticks that he created. For work, Eugene served as a Security Guard at the Casino in Lemoore, CA.
He lived in multiple places throughout California including, Lemoore and Oakland before settling in Lebanon for the past 17 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters; Sally Mae Gamble, Willie Jewel Nunley, Hattie Mae Smith, Gladys Geneva Smith and his brother James Richard Smith, Jr.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Brenda Smith, children; Janine Smith, Eugene Smith, Jr., Janae Young, Ben Ulep and Jill Ulep, siblings; George Smith, Tommie Smith, Ernie Smith, Lucille Gathright, Mary Miles, and Liz Henry, and grandchildren; Kerrington, Kennedy, Gabriel and Kristian.
