Emmitt David Stewart

Emmitt David Stewart, 61, passed away in Stayton, Oregon on November 13, 2019. He was a resident of Aumsville, OR.Emmitt was born in Harris County, TX to Emmitt David and Helen June (Kover) Stewart. Growing up, the family traveled around the United States. As an adult, Emmitt settled in Oregon. He had a long and successful career as a Union Carpenter, and he retired as a Supervisor. Emmitt was very gifted in placing his team members in positions that best suited their abilities, and they loved working for him. He was intelligent, compassionate and patient. He loved helping others succeed. He loved to talk, and he was very friendly and outgoing.Emmitt enjoyed car crafting, wood carving and painting. His greatest gift in life was his ability to love anybody even when nobody else could see through their flaws, and to be able to understand what made people the way that they were. Emmitt was preceded in death by his mother, and his life partner Gloria Dupree. He is survived by his father, Emmitt David Stewart; his son, Michael Simmons; as well as many beloved friends and acquaintances that he made throughout the years. At his request, no services will be held.
