Ellen Marie Mazzeo

Ellen Marie Mazzeo March 9, 1925 April 13, 2015 Gates, Oregon Ellen Marie, 90, passed away April 13 in Gates. She was born in Stickney, SD, and moved to Gates in 2002. Ellen worked for many years as a waitress & bookkeeper. She was a member of Gates Community Church of Christ and The American Legion Auxiliary. Ellen loved to hunt & fish and was an avid seamstress. She also loved to crochet, knit & embroider. A favorite pastime was gardening and canning what she grew. She was an excellent cook and loved to bake. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Margaret O’Dell, her brother Duane, and sister Wilma, who died in infancy, 3 husbands, Lewis Baker, Howard Poler and Dick Mazzeo. She was also preceded in death by step-son, Mark Poler. She is survived by brothers Will & Jim O’Dell, both of Portland, sisters Doris Anderson of Seattle & Verna Ray of Gresham. Her children: Rodney Baker of Albany, Carol Fleck of Longview, WA, Douglas Baker of Newberg, and a step-son, John Poler of Tumwater WA; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Gates Community Church of Christ in Gates.  Private interment in Fairview Cemetery, Gates.
