Ella Belle Sledge January 19, 1915 March 17, 2011 Scio, Oregon Ella was born on the family homestead in Drift Creek, Lincoln County, Oregon the 5th of 8 children to George and Gilmore Davenport. She married Barton Sledge in 1933 and they moved to California briefly before settling in Scio, Oregon. She worked alongside her husband in the early years and excelled as a homemaker. Ella was an avid outdoors woman who hunted and fished with the best of them. She bestowed her legacy on her family with her beautiful quilts and with skillful wood carvings. She will be greatly missed by her son and daughter in law; Don and Mary Sledge of Scio, brother; Glen Davenport of Eugene, sister, Ruth Martin of Salem; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Weddle Funeral Chapel with burial following at Bilyeu Den Cemetery in Scio.
