Elizabeth Mae Kennedy of Hubbard, Oregon passed away June 14, 2023, at the age of 89. The youngest of four siblings, Elizabeth was born to Omar and Matilda Miller on February 18, 1934, in Nampa Idaho. The family moved to Oregon when Elizabeth was a young child, where she remained, raising her own family there.
Elizabeth graduated from Western Mennonite High School in 1952. She went on to become a registered nurse after finishing the nursing program in 1962 at Eastern Mennonite University. She worked as a nurse until she retired in 1999 at the age of 67.
Elizabeth married James Kennedy on September 3, 1966, He preceded her in death in 1986. Together they had three children, Matthew, Jason, and Priscilla. The family moved to Hubbard in 1977 where she lived until her passing. She had three grandchildren, Alexandra, Jack and Caden, and two great grandchildren, Eliana, and Asher.
Elizabeth was a member of ion Mennonite Church and was a faithful Christian that did what she could to inspire others to follow Christ. She was an active volunteer with the Oregon Food Bank and Love, Inc until 2019. She had many hobbies including gardening, knitting, scrabble, jigsaw puzzles, with one of her favorites being the weekly quilting group at Zion, helping to make some of those highly sought after Mennonite quilts.
