In loving memory of Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Minten who passed away on November 11, 2018. Betty was born on Feb. 4, 1933 in Aumsville, Oregon to Joseph and Amelia Wolf. She married William H. Minten on October 19, 1957 in St. Boniface Parish and together they were blessed with 4 children. Throughout her life, Betty was deeply devoted to her church. She was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and most recently handled floral arrangements. She worked 20+ years at St. Mary Regis where she held many roles working as a teacher’s aide, secretary and cook. Betty loved working with the children and remembered their names starting in first grade and even after they graduated. Equally, Betty was wonderful at organizing and making sure everything at school was in order. In addition to the school, she was also a member of Women Catholic Order of Foresters and participated in many other Parish related activities. Besides church, Betty was an active gardener, reader and enjoyed walking. She was a tremendous cook and while her kids were growing up she had a garden and would make canned goods from the vegetables she grew. Betty was famous for her scalloped potatoes and baked beans which she made for every family get together. She leant her heart to many organizations and causes, for the last several years she sponsored a young child in need from South America. Betty enjoyed receiving his letters and learning about his progress over the last 13 years. Betty will be remembered for the many contributions she made to her church and community throughout her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Minten. She is survived by her children, Debra (Jon) Jones, Janice Minten, Mark Minten, Todd (Rick Arnold) Minten; grandchildren, Dillon Angel, Jeremy Angel, Zachary Angel and April Arnold; siblings, Donald Wolf, Dolores Gries, Lucille Wolf, Bernice Skinner, Patricia Silbernagel, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. A Rosary will be held for Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Minten on Wed., Nov. 14 at 7pm in Immaculate Conception Church, followed by a Funeral Mass on Thurs. Nov. 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM with interment at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Following the burial a reception will follow to celebrate her life at the Parish Center. The family would like to thank Marian Estates, Salem Hospital, Dr. Strother and Dr. Elkins for all the care they gave Betty over the last several months. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Willamette Valley Hospice or St. Mary Regis.
