Edna “Joyce” Jacobs (Wooley), 79, of Monroe, Oregon passed away on November 17, 2022.
Joyce was born on June 29, 1943, in Eugene, Oregon to Darrell and Verline (Parrish) Wooley.
She graduated from Monroe High School and worked as a Secretary at U of O, worked at Molding’s Manufacturing, and at Oregon State University as a Supervisor of Custodial Services.
Joyce had four children that she raised on her own. She had an incredible amount of drive to provide the best for all of them. She worked nights, but still never missed a sporting event, field trip, or special activity. She always had a warm meal and a soft place to land for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, camping, trips to the Oregon coast, and the mountains. Other interests included reading, movies, gardening, crocheting, listening to Elvis music, and traveling with her mother.
She was fondly known in her community as “Grandma Joyce.” She was an incredible neighbor, loved to go to exercises with her friends and chat with everyone she knew. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and the children in her community always brought her great joy.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Lori D. Kinkade.
She is survived by her children Debra, Johnny, and Michelle, her brothers and sister Don, Allen, and Mary. She also is survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Monroe Community Center on 12/11/2022 at 2 pm. A Dessert Potluck will be held afterwards in remembrance because Grandma Joyce loved her sweets.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the City of Monroe’s Art in the Park program, St. Jude’s Hospital, or Shriners Hospital.
