E. Roberta Stuhr February 17, 1920 May 7, 2009 Turner, Oregon E. Roberta (Sphoon) Stuhr, 89, passed away on May 7, 2009 in Stayton, Oregon, after battling extended illness. Roberta was born on February 17, 1920 in Fowler, Colorado, graduated from Aumsville High School in 1937, and was married to husband Leonard on October 18, 1941. Roberta worked for the Polk County Assessors office and the Marion County Assessors office, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge in Dallas, Oregon, the Eagles Club #2081 of Salem, Oregon, and St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Dallas, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert F. Sphoon (deceased 1985); mother, Mae Reed Sphoon (deceased 1992); brother, William Reed Sphoon (deceased during World War II); and husband, Leonard (deceased 1999). She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Berta Sphoon of Turner, Oregon; her daughter and son-in-law, Dolores S. and Gunter Werner of Kindsbach, Germany; her son, William D. Stuhr of Turner; her daughter, Roberta M. Affolter of Clackamas, Oregon; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. At her request no services will be held. A private celebration of life and interment will be held at Restlawn Cemetery in Salem. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, Oregon.
