January 30, 1916 – January 8, 2013 Dorothy (Frietag) Bilyeu was born and married into Oregon Trail pioneer families. Born in Lacomb and growing up in Scio, she married Orval Bilyeu in 1930 and together they raised four sons.  Married for 57 years, she was preceded in death by her oldest son, Bill, and her husband, Orval, both in 1987, and later by her companion, Bruce Sims of Stayton in 2006.  Dorothy loved to knit, crochet, and do embroidery, and was proud of her beautiful flower garden. A very hard worker, she helped support her family with field work, employment at Wilson’s Hatchery, and Stayton Canning. She is survived by; three sons, Dale (Lois), Dick (Penne), and Larry (Michele); two sisters, Clara and Ginnie, and one brother, Charlie; 12 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 12 at Weddle Funeral Chapel in Stayton.
