Dorothy Ellen Good was born February 14, 1933, in Eden, New York, to Emanuel and Barbara (Hochstetler) Miller. She grew up in several small towns in Western New York, until age 12, when her family relocated to Oregon, settling in the McMinnville/Sheridan area. Dorothy worked in her parents’ laundromat business growing up. She married Leland Leslie Good on August 8, 1957, in Stevenson, WA. Once married, Dorothy became a full-time homemaker, lovingly caring for her husband and their three children. She was a dedicated wife and mother and enjoyed her family and took pride in her home. Dorothy grew a garden for many years and harvested and preserved the bounty for her family to enjoy. She always made sure Leland and the children were well loved and tended to all their needs. In the early 1960’s, Dorothy and Leland made their home in West Salem, OR for a time, until they moved to Lyons, OR in 1967, to set down roots in the small canyon community. When Leland’s health began to fail, and he needed more care, he moved to Marian Estates Senior Living Community, in Sublimity, OR. In 2007, Dorothy sold the home in Lyons, and purchased a home in Sublimity to be closer to Leland. She would remain in Sublimity until her passing on September 21, 2021. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Leland; her parents; and her siblings Alvin Miller, Roy Miller, Alma Larrew, and Orvan Miller. She is survived by her children Curtis Good of Sublimity, OR, Calvin Good of Portland, OR, and Carla (Marty) Lyles of Sublimity, OR; siblings Betty McJunkin of Burdett, KS, Jim Miller of New Castle, CO; and many nieces and nephews.
