Doris May Hutchins January 7, 1934 ~ September 30, 2010 Aumsville, Oregon Resident Doris Hutchins was born January 7, 1934, in Stayton. She was the second to youngest Of eight children born to Alfred Benjamin Lucas and Minnie Essie Blodgett. She died September 30,2010, At Salem Hospital. Doris lived most of her years in Aumsville. She attended Cascade High School. She was an active member of the Aumsville Historical Society. She helped build Boone and Wildwood parks and was one of the original starters of the Aumsville Corn Festival. Doris spent many years as activity director of Marian Estates, Sublimity. She was also a Girl Scout Leader. Doris spent most of her time painting, drawing house plans, gardening, dancing and sewing. She also loved to yodel and spend time with her grandchildren. Doris married Donald R. Hutchins on July 2, 1973. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald , on October 1, 2009, She is Survived by sons, Dale Anderson of Puyallup, Washington, Art Anderson of Salem and John Anderson of Aumsville; daughters, Vickie Anderson and Debbie Archer of Salem, and Carla Aldridge of Townsend, Montana, Billie Capwell of Aumsville and Barbara Wilson of Independence; sisters, Margaret Kergil and Florence Forrest; brothers, Rex Lucas and Louis Lucas; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial potluck will be held from noon to 4:00 p.m. Saturday October 9 at Boone Park in Aumsville. Remembrances to 910 D Street Independence, OR 97351.
