Doris was born on June 6, 1943 in Parker, Arizona to James Rhoads and Mable Stout. In her younger days, Doris liked to kick up her heels in her younger years, going out dancing. Doris would become a mom at a young age and raise her two sons, Ron and Ray in Mount Angel, Oregon.
Doris would work in Silverton, Oregon at several restaurants as a cook and work as a bartender. She worked at the Townhouse Restaurant in Silverton. She would eventually move to Alaska, where she was known as the toughest bartender you would ever meet. Doris would travel by helicopter and work as a cook in the oil fields or timber camps in Alaska. Doris would go where you couldn’t drive or walk to work. Doris would live in Alaska for 25 years. Both her sons would follow her to live in Alaska.
Eventually, Doris would relocate back to Silverton, Oregon where she has resided in a 55+ community. She passed away on March 6, 2023, in Salem Hospital at age 79.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and a grandson, Tommy McBath. She is survived by her sons, Ron McBath, Ray McBath; grandchildren, Jayden McBath, Mason McBath and Cecil McBath; great grandchildren, Treshel McBath and Taylor McBath.
