Delvin LeRoy Zoller was born on May 8, 1936 in Portland, Oregon to James E Detering and Nellie D Halsey. He was raised in Harrisburg, Oregon by Harvey and Edith Zoller. Delvin held many types of jobs throughout his life, but he worked mostly with heavy operating equipment. He also traveled to Alaska to work on fishing boats, which he enjoyed. In his later life he did seasonal farm work, retiring only 10 years ago. At the young age of 16, Delvin met Clarice Witham while working on her family’s dairy. They fell in love and married on October 8, 1954. Together they had 5 daughters and eventually moved to Corvallis in 1971, after living in Southern Oregon for many years. Delvin enjoyed hunting deer, elk, cougar, & bear while running his dogs. He was a huge Oregon State Beaver’s fan and it brought him much joy when they won the World Series. In addition, he also loved to watch Professional Bull Riding (PBR) and spending time with his family. Delvin was also incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the wolves in Oregon. He knew their tracking numbers, history and many facts about them. Delvin would drive down to Harrisburg weekly to visit with his friends at the 99 Grill Restaurant, where he would sit at the “round table” with his cronies. This brought Delvin a lot of joy after his wife passed away in 2002. For the last couple years Delvin’s health began to fail. Throughout his illness he never complained and always kept his wonderful sense of humor. Surrounded by family, Delvin left this earth on July 25, 2018 in Corvallis. He is survived by his daughters: Teresa Zoller, Kathy Barron, Lisa Van Cleave, Delynn Zoller and Marcie Knight; siblings: Donald Zoller, Kay Wheeler, Myron Zoller; grandchildren: Jason Bailey, Brian Derrickson, Melissa Ewton, Amanda Samuel, Terrah Hansen, Melonie Van Cleave, Shawn Barron, Brandy Felina, Patrick Zoller, Stephanie Van Cleave, Kacie Lynn, Kyle Van Cleave, Madelynn Zoller, Cody Barron, Brenden Knight, Andrea Gamache, Ryan Knight; 24 great grandchildren and many other extended family and friends. Delvin was a Christian man who loved the Lord. He will surely be missed by all.
