Deloris Louise Evans, born November 15, 1935, in Wallowa, Oregon, to Margery and John Prince, passed away on January 1, 2025, in Stayton, Oregon. Her journey through life was one marked by dedication, warmth, and an unwavering spirit.
Deloris spent her early years in the picturesque town of Wallowa, where she met the love of her life, Sammie "Dale" Evans. As a loyal Navy veteran wife, she embraced her role with pride and grace. Together, they moved to Astoria, Oregon, where they resided for 15 years before settling in Stayton in 1975.
Deloris found fulfillment in her professional life as a secretary at Stayton High School, where her husband served as the principal. Her organizational skills, outgoing personality, and love for conversation made her a beloved figure among the staff and students.
In her leisure time, Deloris cherished the great outdoors. She enjoyed camping with her friends in their 5th wheels and looked forward to snow birding during the winter months. Dining out was another pleasure she relished, always eager to try new places and enjoy good company.
Deloris's legacy lives on through her children, Douglas Dale Evans and Pamela K. Low; her grandchildren, Tara Withrow and Casey Low; and her great-grandchildren, Liam Withrow and Rowan Withrow. She is also survived by her sisters, Lola Moore and Sharon Chopp. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband, and her siblings, Gene Prince and Shirley Rimbey.
Deloris's life was a testament to the values of love, family, and community. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
