June 14, 1937 September 22, 2014 Resided in Salem, Oregon Del was born in Mill City, Oregon, the fifth of six children of Blanche Bevier Syverson and Arnold Syverson. He grew up near where Fishermans Bend Park is and spent his boyhood playing along the river. He graduated from Mill City High School in 1955. He went to work logging and building roads for a few years, then went to work at Champion International in Idanha for 17 years. He then worked at several other mills until retiring from Frank Lumber in 2004. After retirement, he enjoyed working on lawn mowers and other small equipment, and watching the Boston Red Sox. He met his future wife, Kay Carr at the Gingerbread House in Mehama where she worked and they were married in 1960. They were married until 2009 when Kay passed away. Del is survived by his children; Donna (Victor) Baumann of Scio, Terrie Bigness of Stayton, Randy (Kristi) Syverson of Salem, and Ryan (Morgan) Syverson of Vancouver, Washington. Six grandchildren; Cody (Sarah) Cade, Tyler (Maria) Baumann, Devon (Tony) Mode, Katie Bigness, Weston Syverson, and Rylie Syverson. Four great-grandchildren; Zenya Mode, Gideon Mode, Piper Baumann and Arnold Baumann. His great sense of humor and teasing personality will be missed by his family and friends.
