Sweet Home- There are so many words that can describe such a wonderful woman. She was the life of the party, beautiful; so radiantly beautiful. She was kind, loving, warm hearted and generous. She could light up the room with her smile. She loved her grandchildren so much; the way they filled her soul I can’t even put into words. Debra also loved her friends; and what a wonderful group she had. Debra enjoyed camping, being out in her garden; her own little oasis, she loved her Cats; Gracie and Sammy and loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was the best cook on the planet; and could make an amazing Holliday meal. She also loved frogs and heart rocks. Debra was born on October 21th, 1952 in Lebanon, Oregon to her Mother Ruth Montgomery-Gates and her Father Frank Gates.  She graduated from Sweet Home High School with the class of 1970. Following high school, Debra attended Portland State University. She worked for the Sweet Home School District, Pacific Power, Albany Bank Teller and where she would go on to spend 28 years as a Supervisor at White Electronics. Debra spent most of her life in Sweet Home however lived in Walnut Creek and Grass Valley California, where she birthed her three children. Debra passed away at the Evergreen Hospice House in Albany, Oregon on April 27th, 2020 after a struggle with cancer. She was 67. She was preceded in death by her Mother; Ruth Montgomery-Gates and Grand-daughter; Audreena Greer. Debra is survived by her Father, Frank Gates; her Brother, Frank Jr. and wife Carol Gates, her brother; Steve and Wife Jill Gates; her Children; Ryan, Cara and Daniel Greer, Her Grandchildren; Ryan, Robbie, Kaidence, Brytin, Emmit, Amelia, Bailey and Bentley. Her Memorial will take place at a later date.
