David Wayne Dixon, aged 79, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024. Born on May 3, 1945, in Havre, Montana, David was the beloved son of Jean and Wayne Dixon and was one of five siblings. His early life was marked by challenges, including the loss of his father at the tender age of eight. Despite these hardships, David grew up as a resilient farm boy, developing a strong work ethic and a love for cars that would last a lifetime. In his 40’s he was diagnosed with MS which impacted his physical abilities but did not impact his spirit.
David was a skilled mechanic by trade, a profession that allowed him to express his deep understanding of machinery and his meticulous nature. Beyond his mechanical abilities, he was also an exceptional writer, with a talent for capturing the essence of life in his words.
On August 9, 1969, David married a Canadian girl, Shirley Marlene Wiebe. Together, they raised four children—Wayne, Vonnie, Erin, and Melissa—in the vast landscapes of Montana. Later in life, they moved to Oregon, where David spent the remainder of his years, surrounded by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
David's life was deeply rooted in his faith. He was never without his Bible and maintained an intimate relationship with Jesus. Those who knew him will remember him as a living example of God’s love—never complaining, never angry, and always kind. His character was a testament to the virtues he held dear, and his presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his son. He is survived by his devoted spouse, his three daughters, and twelve cherished grandchildren, who will all carry forward the legacy of his kindness, love, and faith.
David Wayne Dixon's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
